A perfect spot to hike and birdwatch, Blackwater Creek Nature Preserve boasts 6 miles of hiking trails winding through native grasses, palmetto, and towering pine trees, all the way down to beautiful Blackwater Creek. No facilities or potable water are available and bikes are not permitted. Leashed dogs are welcome. The preserve is open sunrise though sunset 7 days a week. This nature preserve is managed by Hillsborough County's Conservation and Environmental Lands Management Department and was purchased using funds from the ELAPP program. Staff manage the preserve by removing invasive plants, planting native plants, monitoring wildlife, and maintaining the trails.
