Dr. David Pointer is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology. Dr. Pointer received his MD degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He remained at Tulane University, where he completed a General Surgery Residency; served as the Administrative Chief Resident; and completed a research fellowship in the Department of Structural and Cellular Biology. Most recently, he completed a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center/University of South Florida. Dr. Pointer’s clinical interests include gastrointestinal and hepatopancreaticobiliary malignancies, with a specific focus on minimally invasive surgical techniques.
