The Poynter Institute

The Poynter Institute for Media Studies is a non-profit journalism school and research organization in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. The Poynter Institute strengthens democracy worldwide by improving the quality, value, relevance and ethical practice of journalism. Poynter improves journalism by teaching, practicing and holding the practice to high standards of excellence. The Institute operates PolitiFact, the International Fact-Checking Network, MediaWise and the Craig Newmark Center for Ethics and Leadership. It also provides local, independent ownership of the Tampa Bay Times. The venue is an architectural masterpiece and is available for conference and wedding event rentals.
